I won't go so far as to say that I've started cycling—not in the sense that I mean by cycling, anyway. But I've started commuting to work again, and I do it by velocipede. This is made easier by the fact that the car currently won't move due to a broken brake. It takes a while to fix it like this during tire change times when all the workshops are busy.
In addition to commuting, I also cycle to my other training, knife throwing. On my back, I carry a fairly heavy backpack where I keep at least four sets of knives. The heaviest ones weigh 480 g each, times three. In total, there is a bit of scrap metal in the backpack. In addition, there is water, coffee, a staple gun, a couple of decks of cards, a first aid kit, or rather, a roll of electrical tape.
To make it even harder, I ride with SPD pedals but with regular shoes in this case. Then my brain insists on not taking either the easiest or shortest route to my throwing spot. Instead, I find myself on some small path I almost forgot about. I think it's time to explore that side a little more properly again. In the absence of the right equipment, it's a bit awkward.
