New Knife - Cold Steel Ti-Lite 4" Zy-Ex

There is no doubt that this is a modern interpretation of a classic Italian stiletto. That it has been a great success is not much to argue about either, as this knife from Cold Steel exists and has existed in many different versions.

It starts to show in the name. By that, I mean that it has become longer. The original name was just Ti Lite; in this case, it can feel a bit misleading. The original was actually made in Japan and was made of titanium. Then came versions with aluminum handles, which are still in the range. In addition to that, they are also available with a G10 handle and no less than two variants on plastic, Zytel and this variant called Zy-Ex.

Then there was the size. The knife is available in several lengths including a 6"/15cm blade. This knife happens to have a smaller 4" or ten centimeter blade.

This gives us the name Ti-Lite 4" Zy-Ex.

Although the number of combinations was not finished with that. The most common version is this one with a bayonet blade, which means a dagger point where the upper part is a false edge that does not extend along the entire spine of the blade. But Ti-Lite is also available with Kris blades, with or without saw teeth, and now in a Lynn Thomson Signature Edition with a clip-point blade. However, it is a limited edition and belongs to the giants. In addition, the knife can be obtained with blackened blades and different colors on the handles.

It's not hard to see where this model got its inspiration from

This knife from Knivshop, on the other hand, sticks to more modest dimensions, which gives a total length of 219 mm and a weight of around 99 g. The blade steel used is Japanese AUS8.

The slightly simpler materials make for a lower-priced knife that still feels competent and well-built. It will be really fun to test this knife!
