New Knife - QSP Penguin Mini

At one end of the scale are Emperor penguins and at the other is a species called "Little blue penguin" or dwarf penguins in Swedish. The latter is not at all large and stately but on the contrary quite small as the name suggests.

This also applies to QSP's latest version of Penguin as well. Maybe that's why it got the suffix "mini"?

One of the latest additions to the Penguin family has received the suffix "Mini"

In this case, Mini means that the blade has been shrunk to a length of 58 mm. This gives a total length of the knife of only 140 mm.  The folded length is 82 mm. The weight ends up at 82 grams, but that figure could have been trimmed. The steel frame is not actually lightened in any way.

The size means that this is a pure "three-finger knife", at least for me, a knife that fits just about right in the fifth pocket of jeans for example, or however you want to carry it.

QSP Penguin Mini, here in a version with sides in uncolored G10 also called Jade G10

As they often do nowadays, QSP has invested in several versions right from the start. At the time of writing, there are no less than seven variants of the Penguin Mini to choose from. This configuration with a satin-finished 14C28N steel blade and sides in "Jade" or natural G10 has been given the model designation QS130XS-F1.

If you don't think the "Mini" series is enough, there are now around 34 variants of the regular penguin as well. And yes indeed, the giant of the family with the extension "Plus" has just been released. It is also available in different variants.

From the lone small original penguin, the number has now grown to include a whole flock.

Being the QSP watcher that I am, both this little rascal and perhaps an additional model will be found at the other end of the binoculars or maybe the loupe in this case.
