Hopefully, spring has finally arrived. From -15 degrees Celsius at night to the occasional minus and plus degrees during the day. A change that came very quickly, literally over the weekend. A very welcome one, it must be said.

I may need something to liven up my life. Today is the first day as a "job seeker" since my previous job ended. There are some plans to study again, even though what I have in mind is very practically oriented.

To add insult to the injury of a battered economy, an expensive repair is needed to fix a broken tooth in my mouth. On top of that, I broke another tooth the day before yesterday. My wallet will probably bleed when it has to be fixed. Nothing to cheer it up either.

In addition to that setback, I have been afflicted with a relatively rare condition called "Sudden Deathness". A boring diagnosis that is exactly what it sounds like. Without warning, other symptoms or the like, I lost my hearing in my right ear almost two weeks ago. The prognosis is vague, there is no evidence that the medicine works, and there is no hope of completely regaining my hearing. I understand that about 60-70 per cent of those affected regain their hearing, but of those, only half regain their hearing completely. The rest experience deterioration. But about thirty per cent do not regain their hearing at all. It makes me depressed. Another doctor's appointment with tests in the sound lab at Växjö Hospital on Wednesday. We'll see what the results are.

In times like these, it is therefore grateful for a little better weather. The idea is that on the first day that is not raining and is freezing cold, I will go out and do some knife throwing. Fresh air and something to focus on are good medicines for depression.

Then I can always delve a little into the world of knives, even if the mood has made it a little difficult to concentrate. However, I have received a couple of nice knives lately, not least the outstanding Al Mar Operator, which I intend to use and study more closely.
