New Knife - Steel Will F62 Avior

Eventually it showed up. Avior, a new model from Steel Will. It took some time because the world is crazy and everything does not work as usual. Myself, I'm slightly impressed that something actually works at all. A praise to the all the men and women who keep everything going.

In these strange times, you have to stick to simple things to get some "normality", whatever it is, into ones life. One of the things I do is maintain my interests. The weather happen to be excellent for cycling as well as taking photos of knives for the moment. Luckily enough since when it rains it pours it seems.

The first impression of this knife is that it vaguely reminded me of something I've seen before. Then I remembered and after a bit of searching I found an old tiny Kershaw Chive. Actually, Avior is even more similar to the larger Scallion but still.

That's not a bad thing when it comes to overall design. What is reminiscent is mainly the soft curvature of the blade spine, the revurve in the blade and the thumb rest. Otherwise, this knife is radically different. In addition to being significantly larger, for example, it is not provided with spring assistance. Something it doesn't need because the unusual placement of the flipper tab in front of the pivot point makes this knife extremely fast in any case.

The materials are G10 and D2, the lock a liner lock and the blade runs on ceramic bearings. Proven formula in slightly different clothing. So it will be really fun to test this knife!
