I really liked and still like my biggest knife in the Al Mar Ti series, the Eagle. But it is impossible to get away from the fact that it's, how to put it, quite substantial. We are talking about a knife with a four inches long blade and a total length of 8.75 in. So when someone tells you that there is a knife that is slightly neater in format, but looks the same and weighs even less. Then you get interested!
The knife that offers this is of course little brother, Al Mar Falcon UL Ti.

The smaller format is most easily translated into numbers that read 3.15, 4, and 1.8. Or, to put it more straightforward, Falcon has a 3.15" long blade to a handle length of 4" matched by the phenomenally low weight of 1.8 oz. So these are figures that match the current "lightweight king" Benchmade Bugout. The blade length is the same except for two millimeters, but in return, the Falcon Ultralight is a couple of grams lighter. And that even though it is an all-metal knife with a frame lock.
Besides a narrow and rather thin blade, this is achieved by advanced machining of the titanium sides. To the lightweight can be added remarkably high quality and really sympathetic handling when it comes to drawing, opening, and closing the knife.
Overall positive impressions thus far. Especially as the edge was really good straight out of box. It will be fun to test this model from Al Mar.
