Ullr or "Ull" is perhaps one of the lesser-known Norse gods. But besides being known for being an excellent skier, he is also said to have been an expert in archery. Perhaps the aim also includes knife throwing? At least one can hope so.
In addition to being a god for biathlon practitioners, Ullr is also a throwing knife model from the English Yggdrasil Forge. Behind that name is Joe Bardsley, who is both a blacksmith and knife maker and also the designer of this knife. The shape is simple, it's a double-edged dagger and with that, it follows that it should be excellent for, among other things, "half spin" techniques and otherwise being fairly all-round.

This particular model, like the others I presented (Huginn, Muninn) from Yggdrasil Forge, has been given the suffix "XL". This means that the knife is 250 mm long, 6 mm thick, and has a width that varies between 26 mm to 29 mm at the most. That is because the edges are "S-shaped". Or rather, it's a throwing knife so the "edge" is in fact around 1.5 mm thick. There is thus no risk of cutting yourself. Not even when the knife is gripped by the blade.
The balance is neutral and is found 10.5 cm from the end of the handle. The weight is 238 grams, which means that it is found in the middle of the models in the XL range.
My first impressions were so good that I've already made a case to carry it in. Maybe that's saying something? As soon as the weather permits knife throwing I will report back on how these other knives from the Yggdrasil Forge perform.
