New Knife - Tekto Knives F3 Charlie

It is always exciting with a (for me) new brand. However, American Tekto Knives are not completely new to the market, they have been around since 2013, as you can read on the website. If I understood this correctly, a group of friends were out on a trip in Maine and were not entirely happy with how some of the equipment, in the form of knives one would suspect, was performing and decided to do something about it. Given that the company partially focuses on automatic knives in the form of "OTFs", perhaps some were not the best.

However, that type of knife still makes up more than half of the range. The other half currently consists of three different folding knife models. Two are more aimed at the EDC segment although one of them is sold with the argument that it is aimed at military and law enforcement.

They go even further with this model named F3 Charlie. It is said to be designed for "high stakes tactical operations", it sounds like that. Such formulations can always be discussed, perhaps mainly from a cultural perspective. But in any case, it should form the basis of a good knife for mixed outdoor life, I thought. Very few of my excursions in the wilderness can be counted as "operations".

The F3 Charlie is an impressive knife with its large boldly shaped blade. But despite that and a blade length of almost ten centimeters and a total length of twenty-three centimeters, the knife weighs under 130 g. That's impressive! I intend to go into how it works in a future review. There I also intend to clarify whether the initial impressions have any bearing. After just a few minutes, it was established that I liked quite a few things about this knife and some details that could have been better or that I chose to design differently.

Otherwise, it can be briefly said that it is a knife with a blade in D2 steel which is reportedly hardened as hard as 60-62HRC. It has since been given a black finish. The blade is held in place with the help of a "button lock". The spacious handle is based on a steel frame recessed into the sides of G10 which in this case are green as seen.

I look forward to deepening my acquaintance with this knife!
