New Knife - Civivi Neurohaptic

"Big and substantial" might not be the first words that come to mind when thinking of Civivi  , yet they do occasionally release models that fall into the XL category. Perhaps not when compared to a certain "Cold Steel" brand, but certainly when measured against most others. I already own the Sentinel Strike, for instance—a fairly substantial piece—though it can't quite match the Buster FG, which is a true beast regardless of what it’s compared to. After all, we’re talking about a length of 245 mm and a weight of 175 g.

Today’s knife, the Neurohaptic, isn't quite *that* substantial, though it still ranks among the largest Civivi models I own.

In terms of actual dimensions, this translates to a total length of 225 mm and a weight of 122 g. The latter figure is particularly appealing, considering the blade measures a full 95 mm in length. It is a clip-point blade with a completely straight clip, giving it a distinctive, almost dagger-like appearance. Additionally, the blade features a substantial fuller, though this is not particularly visible on this black-coated version. The blade is 3 mm thick and made of Nitro-V steel; it features a flat grind with a 20 mm grind height.

The handle is 124 mm long—excluding the protruding lanyard loop—with a maximum height of 26 mm and a thickness of 13 mm. Combine these dimensions with the very straight handle profile, and you get a simple yet highly comfortable grip that suits all hand sizes—or so I believe—as well as every conceivable type of grip.

It is made of G10 and is available in a few different colors.

Civivi Neurohaptic

The Neurohaptic opens via a flipper tab, and in typical Civivi fashion, the action is tuned to perfection. This applies to both the opening mechanism and the button lock.

As usual, the blade rides on ceramic bearings—a standard feature rather than the exception in Civivi’s lineup these days.

All in all, this is a fairly large, lightweight, and very smooth-operating knife. It is a great choice for anyone wanting something substantial without carrying a boat anchor in their pocket. It is well worth a closer look, which is exactly what I intend to do.
