This is probably one of the coolest knives I have acquired in a long time. A Fox Shadow. As can be read from both the logo and the design language, it is a knife designed by Bastinelli and produced by Italian Fox Knives.
In a way, it can probably be viewed as a bigger and as least as mean-looking cousin to the Spyderco Yojimbo 2 but with ergonomics that beats that knife any day of the week. This knife is much nicer to both hold in hand and use.
Fox FX-533 CF Shadow |
Shadow is available in two versions, either as a full-titanium knife or as here with a presentation side in carbon fiber. The blade material in the modified Wharncliffe blade is Elmax. The blade is wide, four millimeters thick, and gives a slightly ominous impression. The ergonomics are brilliant and are among the best I have come across in the category of thinner folding knives. Shadow is rather slim to facilitate the actual carrying of the knife. It locks with a very sturdy frame lock and it's a flipper opened knife.
Overall, the first impressions are that this is a really bad-ass knife. A review is coming as soon as I carried and used this beast out of Maniago.
