New Knife - Viper Keeper

The last of my trio of knives from Italian Viper is this model, Keeper. A knife that, like Novis, is designed by Fabrizio Silvestrelli. This is an earlier example of a collaboration between them.

Like most Viper knives, this model is available in several versions. But basically, the choice is about whether you prefer wood or micarta sides. This time, I chose wood, partly to get variety and partly for the classic look it gives.

Viper Keeper

Keeper is an interesting knife in that it differs from most modern folding knives in appearance with its double finger guards and bowie-style blade. The finger guards also act as an opening mechanism in a very interesting way. This is a flipper knife that is not intended to be flipped. But you can still do it. So it can be counted as opening method number one. Number two, as intended, is to open the knife partially with the upper finger guard and then end the movement with the lower finger guard. Which, by the way, gives the next way to open the knife. You can calmly and methodically use that finger guard from the beginning to open the knife in a so-called slow roll. Then the more curved upper finger guard acts like a "Wave-feature", which means that you can get the knife in an open position straight from your pocket if you so wish.

Keeper is an interesting knife that I will of course review.
