It's been a while since I tested a knife from Steel Will. This is one of their latest models called Nutcracker. The name obliges when they in their presentation text claim that it should be able to "peel" a coconut as well as crack walnuts, mince food, and chop branches.
We'll see what I have to say about that! But the challenge is too tempting to resist.
Steel Will F24 Nutcracker |
The knife that will face all these tasks is a folding knife with a 3.4" long blade. To get a little more weight and power behind both the words and the edge, the shape is a rather broad modified Wharncliffe with a blade thickness of 0.16". A sturdy blade that is. The finish is a black stonewash and the blade steel is Böhlers N690. The blade runs on fine ceramic ball bearings and the knife comes with a liner lock. The entire package is rounded off with a nicely shaped handle of 3D-milled G10 and a sculpted clip in titanium.
A knife I suspect I will have a lot to say about. Among other things the advertising text. I'll be back with a review!
