This is a knife not only new to me but also relatively new in SOG's range as well. The model is called Stout FLK and according to the website is the result of a collaboration between Danish Mikkel Willumsen and SOG's founder Spencer Frazer.
There must be something in the genes of our dear southern brother people because it also has clear features of knives designed by another Dane. It is not different from a cross between the Pilar II and Batum models from CRKT and Jesper Voxnaes. Apart from the blade then, which with its drastic grinding definitely carries the features of Willumsen.

The name also feels a bit reused as it has occurred in the knife world before. For example, Al Mar had an "SLB" (which stood for "Stout Little Bastard" or "Back Up" as the more politically correct translation was).
But with that said, SOG Stout FLK has a lot to offer. To resemble something else does not have to be bad in the knife world. Stout is a knife with the same pleasant ergonomics as the knives it reminds of. The blade, on the other hand, is more sympathetic than those in my opinion as it is partly made of better steel * and is also equipped with a tip! In addition, SOG is generally significantly better at delivering a knife with a sharp original edge than many other companies are. So also this time.
Otherwise, Stout FLK is a knife that offers a steel frame lock and a presentation side in G10. If you do not like this color combination with O.D. Green and stone washed blade, Stout is currently available in no less than seven different configurations to satisfy most tastes.
The knife is opened with either a blade hole or a flipper according to preference. It also comes with a deep ride clip that attaches to the rear end of the handle and can be shifted from right to left.
More about this knife will of course be later!

* yes, I know Pilar is available in a D2 version nowadays. But original it was 8Cr14MoV.
