New Knife - Civivi Conspirator

It's nice to still be able to be surprised! Especially when, as in this case, it is in the positive direction.

Of course, I knew what I could expect from this knife, the Civivi Conspirator, otherwise, it would be strange. Measurements and weight had been read and pictures studied. In addition, I have had several very good experiences with Civivi in the past. The most recent creation I reviewed from them was Lumi. It is a knife with a different character, small and neat while it is significantly much more robust.

Conspirator is a fairly new knife in Civivi's fast-growing catalog. Not the latest, because you have a hard time keeping up with the new releases. 

This is a sturdy knife that measures just over twenty centimeters in length, 206 mm to be exact. Hidden in the handle you find an almost 90 mm long blade. And what a blade! A dark Damascus with an intricate pattern or perhaps rather pattern-welded stainless steel to be correct. But it is well done and the blade is said to be hand-rubbed. The end result is dazzlingly beautiful even though I usually prefer less elaborated blade finishes. 

In addition, the steel used is of good quality, which ensures that the knife can also cut well. Especially as the geometry as per usual from Civivi is really good and the blade stock quite thin.

Another thing we got used to from Civivi is a very high finish and exceptionally good handling. No one will be disappointed in this case either. The Micarta is of the best kind and the frame is both well-sanded and lightened.

Then there was the handling. This knife can be opened in at least five different ways and the lock is a "button lock" with one of the most accurate functions I have encountered of that kind. For those looking for a "fidget toy", this is the ultimate model.

Even more important is of course how well the Conspirator works as a tool. But for the experienced, the simple lines and blade shape tell that there are good conditions for it. I will of course return with a review of Conspirator when it has been carried and used.
