New Knife - QSP Capybara

The previous most exclusive knife from QSP in my collection is the Legatus. Now it has got competition. The model that takes up the fight for the throne is called Capybara. A newcomer that offers several interesting details and an appealing design language. Everything is seasoned with exclusive materials.

QSP Capybara

The design is of course not the same between the two models. But the materials are very much the same, even if the Capybara is slightly more worked. Both knives feature something as advanced as M390 steel in the blade. Here jacked up to 59-61 HRC. It simply doesn't get that much better. It can be different, but right now not better in terms of performance. Both Legatus and Capybara have blades that run on ceramic ball bearings. In this case, the finish is satin, a version which, incidentally, is slightly more expensive than the alternative, which is a stone-washed blade.

Then you find titanium on both sides of the handle, fuller and in the milled clip. This also applies to both knives. Another similarity is that the knives have inlays in the titanium of multicolored patterned carbon fiber found not only on the presentation side but on both sides of the handle.

Then Capybara becomes more advanced. Here, the same material also reappears in the collar around the pivot screw and in the thumb studs. The latter is quite unusual. In addition, the back spacer has received a milled pattern and the same applies to parts of the handle as can be seen.

Capybara is one of the most exclusive knives in QSP's catalog

As can be noted, the QSP Capybara is a knife that can be described as "cremè de la cremè", a mix of all the best materials. It has been matched with a tasteful design with harmonious proportions and sweeping lines and an "action" to match.

The performance is increased by a distinct hollow-ground blade and thus should cut quite well despite being on the thicker side.

It will be very exciting to get to know this knife, but if first impressions are anything to go by, it will be a pleasant acquaintance.
