New for today is the 259L Medal knife from SRM Knives. It is a convenient little pocket knife with an appealing appearance in my eyes.
The knife is distinguished by a slightly modified Wharncliffe blade and an aluminum handle with recessed wooden panels. Then it has what I usually call 'harmonious proportions', whatever that is. But a kind of golden ratio for knives that makes the whole thing aesthetically pleasing. Or a stylish knife in pure English.

Translated into measurements, it is a length of 193 mm, of which the blade is 81 mm. Not exactly a small knife, then. I usually draw the line when the blade is under 76 mm or three inches.
The wood used for the inlays is ebony, and the aluminum used is 6063. In the blade is, as is often found at SRM these days, Sandvik 14C28N.

Otherwise, the knife has ceramic ball bearings, an "Ambi lock" which is SRM's interpretation of a modern classic, i.e., a cross-bar lock. Then the arrangement is rounded off by their own invention, "Ambi Clip". A clip that has the extraordinary property that, in addition to being functional, it can be removed without tools.
First impressions of this knife are really positive. In addition to the appearance, it has very soft handling, and the factory edge was exceptionally good. In addition, I could immediately see that the blade geometry is excellent for cutting well, and as can be seen in the picture, the tip is not to be messed with.
There is a lot that promises good in this knife. A report will follow, rest assured!
/ J - wonders if the medal has a flip side.
