New Knife - Sencut Glidestrike

Clip point and no flipper. It was two of the details that persuaded me to get this knife. A clipped blade is not always the best but usually one of the prettiest. It's just the way it is. It gets even prettier when you skip things that protrude like flipper tabs and thumb studs. Simply put, a cleaner look!

Then I liked that this knife called Glidestrike from Sencut is quite large. Most of what they do otherwise falls into the category of smaller or possibly medium knives. Variety is always refreshing.

This sturdy blade measures close to a decimeter in length, more precisely 95 mm. Since it is also relatively tall, the impression is quite massive. However, the shape makes it taper to a very distinct tip. The material is 9Cr steel. Before anyone grunts, it should be pointed out that 9Cr18MoV is significantly better than its simpler cousins.

The entire length of the knife ends up being over twenty-two centimeters, but despite that, it weighs as little as 117 g. A very light steel frame and a thin knife are some of the explanations for that.

The material of the handle is another good selling point as it is not just Micarta but canvas Micarta. A material that becomes a little coarser in structure and therefore usually feels "softer" in the hand. At least I think so. It is also a material that ages and changes appearance over time, which gives the knife a bit of personality.

A review follows, be sure!
