New Knife - Civivi Vision

Yes, I admit that the first experiment in getting a knife with a handle made of "Ultem" was a pleasant experience. It turned out to be a capable material with several positive properties. So that a new knife from another brand is tested with the same type of handle is perhaps not completely far-fetched. The question was mostly about which model it would be found on.

In addition to trendy handle material, this knife from Civivi offers something as cool as a rarely used lock type. Those two details are found on a knife aptly called the Vision FG.

Civivi offers a knife equipped with a "Super lock"

The lock named "Superlock" is certainly not entirely new, it is an invention previously found on knives by Snecx who is the man behind this design as well. More on that in the review that follows. But this is one of the first production knives it is found on. In addition to Snecx's own knives, it can be found in a collaboration with CKF as well as on a more expensive version of this knife labeled WE Knives. In both cases, we are talking about completely different price levels. But now the technology has trickled down to more affordable knives. It's less than half the price compared to before.

In addition to an interesting handle material and an exciting lock construction, this knife has what I think is a nice blade shape that could possibly be described as a "reverse tanto" or perhaps a "modified Wharnie" depending on the mood. The blade is also made in Nitro-V with a stated hardness of 59-61HRC. The finish is a very well-made satin.

The total length of the knife is just over twenty centimeters, 202 mm to be exact, and has a blade of almost nine centimeters. Not exactly a tiny pocket knife, in other words. On the other hand, it is fairly light as it weighs in at a low 116 grams.

Overall, the Vision FG is a knife that spoke to me already before I got it. Now it remains to be seen if it is as sympathetic as I hope and believe.
