The weeks fly by, laying themselves down to die where weeks eventually drift into oblivion. We are now in the midst of autumn, and more things are dying—the leaves, and the desire to go outside.
It is pitch black when I leave home, and soon it will be just as dark when I return. This means entire days can pass without seeing any real daylight—especially when a drizzle falls from gray skies, as it has for a few days this week. Those of you living at similar latitudes know exactly what I mean. I am addressing my international audience here, as those in northern Sweden would hardly be impressed. But for the rest of you: I live at 56°52′ N. Follow that latitude across to North America and see where you end up.
One can only hope that a few of those enchanted sunny days will return. In the meantime, it is all about survival.
