Friday EDC CLI "Tactical Practical"

It is often said that honesty lasts the longest. Or it is just a proverb, and the content of the statement can be analysed, and its truthfulness can also be discussed. But the meaning itself is nice in any case, as it reflects a desire for the truth to prevail.

With that in mind, I have a confession to make. This is not today's "EDC" at all. It is something from a couple of weeks ago! The truth is simply that this is a prime example of recycling. I wore this particular combination one Friday on the way to the VAIS cottage and the throwing arena there. That is where VXO Sportthrowing is found.

But recycling is still a concept that feels modern. You can handle the truth a little bit as you like, it seems. At least that applies to big and famous politicians who say whatever they want. At the same time, recycling is really in fashion. So a couple of pictures from Instagram will form the basis for today's post.

Fredags-EDC CLI "Practical Tactical"

The knives in the picture are a delightful mix. The throwing knife that borders on a bo shuriken is a Spike DC from Tacticaledged.Dojo. It is used quite a lot in throwing these days as a fun detail. I pull and throw it from the case. Obviously not competition training, but fun nonetheless.

The folding knife is the extremely solid Counter Point from Cold Steel. A knife I have reviewed, you can find the post here. Then I happened to be wearing one of the few "neck knives" I actually carry that way. The knife is the Fred Perrin-designed classic La Griffe. As always, there is a Victorinox of some kind in the bag. This day, the model was a Spartan.

The blade shapes of the knives differ significantly. A narrow dagger without edges, a wide dagger/bayonet with only one edge and a chisel ground Wharncliffe

But this Friday I will, just like the day I wore this particular combination, head for the VAIS cottage and the throwing lanes there. Now it's almost training time. Competitions are coming up soon, so I intend to prepare for that. There is a lot to learn and improve on as I compete in all three basic disciplines: axe, knife and No Spin.

Hope you have a good Friday, friends!
