New Knife - CJRB Hectare

When it rains, it pours, they say. For some reason, the same seems to apply to knives in this household. In this case, it's time for another representative from CJRB. From zero to two in a very short time. Incidentally, it is a sister brand to Artisan Cutlery where their more budget-oriented segment can be found. My first knife from there, the Prado was presented the other day and gave me lust for more. That knife is a Laconico design that felt incredibly good in the hand and was also nice to look at.

The only thing that possibly could be discussed was my choice of "aqua green" as the handle color. But to continue with the proverbs, it is also difficult to teach old dogs new tricks and therefore, this knife called Hectare is even more colorful.

The knife comes in a substantial box and is tucked into a zippered pouch

However, it remains to be seen how well that color holds up as it appears to be a painted blade. Actually, I believe it says so on the homepage. In any case, it's not a DLC coating for sure. But for those who want a slightly more discreet knife, Hectare is available in several different versions, even with more standard-colored satin blades and both discreet and colorful handles.

Otherwise, it is a knife in the "Bugout"-class we are talking about. That is, a knife with a blade of around eight centimeters and that weighs very little. In this case around 77 grams. The handle material is G10 and the lock is of crossbar type and the blade opens with a thumb hole alternatively with the lock function. The blade runs on ball bearings and the steel is a new acquaintance for me in the AR-RPM9. According to the information, it is some form of powder steel. I guess that's what the "P" in the name stands for.

Overall, I liked the overall look of the knife, and by going by pictures alone it also looks rather ergonomic, which I can immediately say it does. But as I said, I'm excited to see how it holds up and performs over time. Those impressions will of course be shared with you in a review.
