New Knife - Brisa Scara 60

Autumn is a beautiful time with all the colors and high and clear air someone happily said the other day. My girlfriend and I looked at each other and we both thought the same thing, that isn't bloody true! As this is being written, I look out the window and find that the air is mostly saturated with water and that it is basically pitch black outside even though it is morning and the predominant colors are different shades of gray!

Then you need something to liven up a gloomy day. So why not a new knife? In this case, a very interesting piece as well. We are talking about a knife from Finland. There you will find the company Brisa and this is their model Scara 60.

For those of you who do not know Brisa, I really recommend that you look at their website. They provide everything that may be needed for knife making but also have an assortment of knives from different brands. Including their own and there you will find modern classics like the Trapper in different configurations. But they also have folding knives and now even a kitchen knife that I reviewed earlier.

A clever detail with Brisa's model designations is that they provide a clue to the size of the knife. Scara is the name and the suffix "60" indicates that the blade is 60 mm long in this case. It is thus a very small knife we are talking about. The total length is not more than 13.8 cm. That is actually the point of this creation. Scara is a "three-finger knife" aimed at "EDC". It is intended to function as an everyday companion and is therefore small and light, we are talking about a weight of 100 grams including sheath. By the way, it is made of kydex and of very high quality.

That is exactly what characterizes Brisa in general and there is no difference this time. Scara is characterized by very good quality, which applies to both the included materials and how it's put together. In the blade you find Swedish steel in the form of RWL-34 from Damasteel and the handle is made of yute-Micarta. The result is as beautiful as it is practical.

It will be extra fun to test this luxurious little chap right now as I am also evaluating a couple of other small knives at the same time along with other fixed blades for review. Thus, there is much to compare with.
