It's called third time is the charm right? Or maybe it is a question of a three-leaf clover? Anyway, what I'm talking about is that this is my third knife from Italian MKM. This model is called Goccia , which according to the website is drop in Italian. The explanation for the name is found in the pattern on the handle and is accompanied by a deeper philosophical reflection.

There is no doubt about the brand |
This time, another Danish designer is responsible for the lines. It is Jens Ansø who has been on the move. Just as is the case with his faithful collaborator Jesper Voxnaes who was behind the other knives I presented from MKM (LÄNK), it is easy to recognize Jen's design language. In this case it is unusually easy to deduce as Goccia is a production version of his custom model Neo.

Goccia goccia is available in a couple of different versions where the biggest difference is the handle material. You can choose between titanium in a couple of different styles, G10 or, as here, Micarta. The choice is based on the fact that I think it is a nicer material than the others to hold. Common to all versions of this knife is that nothing has been spared. The micarta is of the best quality with linen as a base and the blade contains Böhler/Uddeholm's M390 steel.
Then the icing on the knife cake are details in titanium. That material is found in a ring around the pivot screw, the back spacer and the wire clip. The knife is a flipper and the blade runs on ball bearings.
It is also slightly larger than the two previous knives I presented from MKM. Here the blade measures 85 mm. Anyway a very good looking knife that I will, of course, review in due time.

* Possibly it can get a bit confusing as there already exists a similar knife from Fox Knives called Ziggy. It is supposed to be an interpretation of Ansö's custom edition of the same name, but as it is slimmer, it is deceptively similar to Neo/Goccia in terms of proportions.
