New Knife - Civivi Cetos

You know what you're getting when it comes to Civivi. Now, this is not a bad thing as it means a very high and even standard. The quality is hard to match and the mistakes made are few if any. I have not come across any production fault yet among the knives I have from the brand in question. They certainly exist, but they are not many.

The same can be said about the latest model Cetos. A knife that is not only new to my collection but also quite new to the market.

Civivi Cetos

In this version, Cetos comes with an elegant wooden show side

If any small criticism is to be made against Civivi's catalog, it is that many knives are confusingly similar. But in return, it gives a lot to choose from, which is nice for us buyers. This means, for example, that there are similar knives where the differences can be size, opening method, material, and the like. For those who prefer a flipper-opening knife, there are models to choose from, the same if you want a thumb opening.

Cetos is a dedicated flipper knife that can possibly be opened with two hands via the groove in the blade if the desire strikes. Otherwise, it has recently become more common among Civivi's products that they can be opened in several different ways.

A couple of other things that distinguish this knife are partly that it is a frame lock and partly that it has an attractive wooden presentation side. The very pointed spear point blade is made of Sandvik 14C28N, a material familiar to most knife enthusiasts. For those who don't know, it's one of my favorite steels in the "budget class"*.

Be that as it may, it is a very interesting and, in my opinion, a beautiful knife that I intend to review!

* The quotation marks are because I do not at all consider those boundaries to be distinct in any way. There is so much more at play when it comes to blade performance than just the composition of the steel.
